The Australian Government has established a Royal Commission to inquire into institutional responses to allegations and incidents of child sexual abuse.
On Friday 11 January 2013, Letters Patent appointing a six-member Royal Commission to investigate Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse were issued by Her Excellency Quentin Bryce, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.
The Terms of Reference defining the scope of the Royal Commission are contained within the Letters Patent.
The Royal Commission is expected to commence its public work in early 2013.
